i hadn't ridden my bike in a year.
and this morning,
i was going to do something about it.
or so i thought.
after searching frantically for my
biking glasses for half an hour,
i gave up.
frazzled.
frustrated.
all i wanted was a quick spin.
something to remind me what it was like
to actually be on a bicycle again.
but no.
not today.
so,
i decided to tackle a sewing project.
a very simple dress alteration.
ha!
due to problems with the sewing machine,
the one-hour project took me all day.
and then my date with my mom got cancelled.
yup.
today was my day to learn patience.
i'm afraid i didn't do so gracefully.
it took more than a few reminders
from fellow sojourners
to teach me that the joy of the Lord
was more than enough.
that my happiness doesn't rest in things
or circumstances.
but He is working.
slowly purifying.
teaching me joyful patience.
i just wish it didn't have to take so long :-)
